I know that one of the overwhelming responses to becoming vegan is "Oh my God my skin looks amaaaazing!" I am totally guilty of showing off my vegan glow, but for some mysterious reason the last several months have been disastrous for my skin. I have these tiny bumps underneath the skin on my cheeks and chin, and I've been getting all sorts of advice on cures - prescription face wash, facials, switching from liquid to mineral powder foundation. Nothing seems to help! (BTW any suggestions or similar stories are totally welcome)
There's a lot of hype about The Republic of Tea's new "Get Gorgeous" tea, which claims to help clear skin. I'm a little skeptical, but in my desperation I shelled out the $11 for a container. In hopes for a cure for my own issues and to try out the validity of the product, I'm doing a 30 Day Get Gorgeous Challenge - drinking the tea for 30 days in a row and seeing what happens. Fingers crossed.
Let's hope this stuff works like medicine, because it certainly tastes like it.
Have you tried Get Gorgeous tea? What are your tips and tricks for clear, glowing skin?

Don't rule out the possibility of an allergy - if it's a new thing maybe you have developed a slight food allergy to something, or even a reaction to a lotion/product. I had little bumps appear once, and it turns out I was allergic to the antibiotic I was taking. I also had a professor that had what looked like awful acne but he had actually developed a corn allergy. Just a thought - good luck!
I have to agree with whole wheat vegan, and definitely think of allergies as a possibility. When i first switched to veganism i got red itchy eyes and bumps on my chin, and turns out I was consuming too much soy (for my lack of cooking/knowledge/time). i completely took processed soy out of my diet and my skin cleared up, now i try to keep a balanced diet, and don't have a problem eating soy. . . . again, something to think about! can't wait to hear how it goes.
You say that it even tastes mediciney? That can't be appealing! But I am interested to hear what you think about it after the 30 days is up. Keep us informed, Andria! :)
Thanks so much for your responses, ladies! I'm going to do a little experimenting with my diet this week - I don't eat a ton of soy or anything specifically, but maybe by being more conscious and restrictive about my sugar intake and processed food consumption I can start figuring this out.
hi sweetie, havent tried that tea.
secrets for skin. sigh. every time i quit my chemical laden lancome and try natural or cheap product, i break out. so, would love to find something more holistic that works that isnt too pricey.
I hope your day was lovely andria!
Skin can really suck sometimes. Since I went vegan a month and a half ago, my skin has gone from WOW AMAZING to... God, why would you walk out of the house without makeup on??? Not sure what's up. Except some people are telling me that it's my body's way of processing out stuff and getting adjusted to a new eating style.
As weird as it sounds, coconut oil as a moisturizer has been helping my skin calm down at a lot. But don't "quote" me on that.
